Organic Yellow Bourbon, Golden Honey + lactic fermentation: sweet, round cup with honey, sugarcane and dark chocolate. Rich, creamy, silky body. Medium roast—excellent for filter or cold brew.
Description
This Bruma Tropical coffee comes from a carefully produced micro-lot in Los Santos, Costa Rica, grown above 1800 meters. At this elevation, cherries ripen more slowly, building higher density and more structured sweetness—ideal conditions for Yellow Bourbon, a variety known for its naturally sweet, comforting profile.
The lot is organically grown and manually, selectively harvested, keeping only optimally ripe cherries. Processing is designed to amplify sweetness while staying clean and expressive: a controlled lactic fermentation, followed by a Golden Honey process. Retaining mucilage during drying helps create a syrupy texture and long, sweet finish. A hybrid drying (mechanical + sun-dried) approach supports consistency and stability while preserving aromatic clarity.
In the cup, expect a highly appealing flavor set: cocoa/chocolatey, sweet and lactonic, with caramelized tones, a very round structure, and a rich, creamy, silky mouthfeel. Clear notes of honey, sugarcane, and dark chocolate stand out. The medium roast keeps the balance right—excellent for precise filter brewing and equally satisfying as cold brew.
With a 91.48 SCA score, this micro-lot sits firmly in specialty territory, offering both quality execution and a signature “gourmand” profile. Packed in a valve bag for freshness.
Brew ratios
Filter: 1:17 (standard) · 1:18 (light) · 1:15 (strong)
Cold brew: 1:6–1:8 (concentrated) · 1:5 (strong) · 1:12 (diluted)
